North Park United Methodist Church, a merger of the congregation of the Epworth-Winsor United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church of Kinloch, had its first worship service as a new congregation on Sunday, June 3,1990. Epworth-Winsor brought to this merger 150 members and the First Church of Kinloch brought 115 members. North Park's membership grew to over 300. Epworth-Winsor was a church in transition in a changing neighborhood and the First Church of Kinloch was in the midst of a land acquisition program administered by St.Louis Lambert Airport. We thank God fort he visionary leadership of Reverend Wendell Stoneburner, pastor of Epworth-Winsor and Reverend Kenneth Franklin, pastor of First Church who saw the opportunity for building the great congregation we have today. Reverend Franklin served as pastor of North Park until June 1994.
OUR CHURCH
In July of 2013, The Lord sent us a spirtually filled, inspired Pastor in the person of Pastor Cheree Trent-Mills. Pastor Cheree continues to be a great spiritual motivator to our congregation. Since assuming her duties as Senior Pastor of North Park United Methodist Church, she has accomplished some of her goals She has received into the discipleship through baptism, confirmation, Christian experience, and letter twenty-two members as of July, 2014. She reorganized the Children/Youth ministry and the Young Adult ministry(Known as the SoulJourns). She was instrumental in the campaign to raise money for the purchase and installation of a stairlift for the church. She helped organize H.O.P.E(Helping Other People Ecel), a community outreach ministry. Members of the community and the choreographer has been engaged to work with North Park in May,2014 which was a huge success. An instructor and choreographer has been engaged to work with North Park youth liturgical dancers She also initiated a Youth Sunday every fourth Sunday whereby the youth conduct the worship service.
